Coronavirus Update

Dear Kingwood Pediatric Dentist patient family,

We wanted to inform you that we are open and excited to see you starting on Monday, May 11th, 2020!

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Now that we are back to scheduling routine dental visits, you may be wondering what precautions we are taking to ensure your safety.  While our friendly team members and the appointment process may look a little different once you are back in the office, don’t worry!  We have always been on the front line of preventing the spread of diseases.  Precautions have always included the use of masks, glasses, gloves, sterile instruments, and devices.  You will now see additional precautions specific to the onset of OCVID-19.  From treatment and waiting room disinfection to the strict use of personal protective equipment (PPE), the safety of patients and team members continue to be of utmost importance.

While your check-in may involve a few extra steps, this will help ensure the safety of you and our team.  Signs will be in place in our door with directions for you to follow.  Upon your arrival, we ask that you stay in your car and text/call us.  We will then text/call you back and let you or your child know when to come in for your appointment.

We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.

You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.

Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.

We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

Due to the closure of schools, we know you will also be challenged with childcare limitations.  It has been customary and natural to bring siblings, friends, and other family members to appointments.  We ask that only the patient enters the office, (if it is absolutely necessary that a family member enter the office, they must wear a face mask).  Only scheduled patients will be allowed back in our treatment area.

If you or others accompanying you have a fever, cough, or shortness of breath, we ask that you please let us know.  We may have to reschedule your appointment.  We will be taking your temperature with a touchless thermometer as you the office, have you use hand sanitizer, and rinse with mouthwash before we see you.  We ask that you brush your teeth before coming to your appointment.  Brushing in the office will not be available for now.

Don’t worry, as always, we are here to answer any of your questions and to update you on your treatment.  We are kindly asking our patients and families to assist us in reducing risk of exposure, so we may have the most effective sanitation procedures for the benefit of our patients, community, and team.  Rest assured, we will continue to follow any recommended precautions from the AAPD (American Association of Pediatric Dentistry), OSHA, CDC, and TDA (Texas Dental Association), to treat all pediatric patients safely.

Drs. Adams and team members want to thank you sincerely for navigating through this unprecedented time with us, for keeping you, your family and our community safe and for allowing us to be part of your smile transformation process.  We also appreciate your support and understanding for the multiple rescheduling of appointments.  We are forever thankful and blessed to have such an amazing patient family!  We look forward to seeing you soon!
